Best Ethiopian restaurant in Ottawa!
Food is genuine and very tasty. Staff was great!
Small buffet however everything is super duper delicious, spicy. Chicken, beef, lamb yummy. if you like Indian food, you will love this place, very quiet setting and one area of the restaurant is setup like how it would in Africa. Waitress is adorable, non assuming and knowledgeable.
Food is good but sometimes to highlight what kind of food you want to tryout need suggestion. The staff is not fully equipped for suggesting dishes
Great service, good food and positive vibes
Really really good $10 dollar specials. And the owner is a super nice person. Food was fresh and the flavors are amazing. Highly recommend trying this. And it was fun eating with my hand. Take a friend and share.
Hands down the best Ethiopian food in Ottawa. Buffett lunch is a must try.
One of the best Ethiopian restaurants in Ottawa. The interior design represents Ethiopian culture very well. The food is very well prepared and flavourful taste. Overall very good :)
This is a great place. Staff here are very friendly. Food is very tasty. The prices are great. Definately coming back.
Service was excellent and great atmosphere. The food was good but not my cup of tea.
Overall pretty good. Like the ambiance!Food is good but there is plenty for a buffet however, although it can take time sometimes, they do bring out some more. Service is abit slow but VERY curtious
I had the lunch buffet for $13.99. There was chicken lamb, an excellent beef dish, lots of different kinds of lentils and vegetable dishes, and of course, injera. You have to go down a flight of stairs to get to this quirky restaurant (no elevator). It's in a basement where you can't connect to network services, and there is no wifi. If you want a centrally-located place with good, reasonably priced Ethiopian food, this is it. I wish I could have given it 4.5 stars, but had to choose between 4 and 5.
Nice decor, great service. A little bit expensive compared to other Ethiopian restaurants, especially considering the portions. Less spicy too, but I prefer that. Quanta firfir is AWESOME!!!!
Super cool Ethiopian restaurant. Nice ambience, wonderful service and great food topped up with affordable prices. Highly recommended.
Pretty good Ethiopian place. Loved their vegetarian platter. This place needs more recognition
So appalled by the rude, aggressive and extremely unprofessional way my friends were treated by the owner of this restaurant. I do not recommend trying to hold a private event here.
Very nice place staff very friendly
Excellent meal and great value for the amount you get.
I go every time I am in Ottawa. This place has one of the more exotic dishes that I have ever eaten and it's fun to bring an unsuspecting date here :) and watch them eat without utensils. I think this is a great idea for a third date or so. I always get a mixed plate and for $25 for two(!) it's an amazing deal.. The food is flavourful, spicy and the place makes you feel like you are on a trip somewhere.
Went for a late lunch on the weekend... ordered the platter for two. Delicious! And a great option for those with gluten and dairy intolerance.
Bad service, rim of my cup was sticky all around and then saw something floating in the water jug. The food came in a beautiful straw tray which I was uncomfortable with because the injera was rubbing up against the sides. Food was delicious until I found a hair in the rolled up injera. Not going back.
Not great. Slow service. Middling food. Good njera
A very happening place in the city. With dilicious drink and food and best server i loved this place! I will be comingback again.
To all nations out there please support your own! Help them grow! They are doing a fantastic job!
Super courteous service and the food was delicious.
The food was great... It did take a while to get our plate but it's a nice hidden gem in downtown Ottawa
Best place in town to enjoy good dj's and live band with nice lighting and great service. I will return in the near future and pass the word about this place being so welcoming and fun.
We went for the lunch buffet. There was not a lot of choices but the food on offer was delicious. It was my first taste of Ethiopian and I would go back and order off the main menu to try even more delicious foods.
Food is great. Service was bizarre, didn't seem interested in serving us (2 adults, 2 kids). Didn't ask us if we wanted drinks...
Good value Ethiopian buffet for lunch.
Had a great time! Food was very delicious, and the server was very polite.
Fantastic food! Lovely waitress very kind and informative if questions are asked. We had their signature dish (D'Afrique specialty I think I might be wrong) gives a bit of everything. Amazing experience love their bread! Their spiced tea is very nice almost like a chai with out the milk. Very flavorful and an experience worth trying out!
What a little gem in the heart of Ottawa! The food was outstanding :) Staff was very friendly and welcoming! Highly recommended.
Love Ethiopian food. Very good service.
It was our first time here with our three little boys. The food was AMAZING! So delicious! The staff is also wonderful and kind. The food was very affordable too. Favorite new spot in Ottawa. Will return every time we are back for SURE.
Owner tried selling me something different from what I ordered and thought I wouldn't notice...?
Got there at 8pm and it was advertised as being closed at 10. Was told the cook had already left and we couldn’t eat there. Me and my friends were super excited and very hungry. Maybe the cook had an emergency or something but me and my friends and parked far and walked in the cold just to be turned away hungry and freezing. Not impressed.
Went for the lunch buffet at 12:20... there was maybe 6 dishes to choose from, the three meat dishes were nothing but scraps left and the veggie dishes had a hard crust on top, you could tell it wasn’t very fresh. I waited 15 min for the meat dishes to be refreshed and they brought out enough for MAYBE 2 people and there was at least 8 of us waiting. I managed to get some... it was ok at best. Basically never saw the server... never got offered a drink, even water. Overall completely unacceptable for a lunch place in the downtown core where people are looking to get in and out in 20-30min in their lunch break. Go to Horn of Africa on Rideau... for $12 you get way more food than I was able to get out of the buffet, and it’s always fresh and delicious.
Excellent food with great variety of flavors. Great value, very fresh with a friendly service in a family owned restaurant. A must try if you are looking for vegan options too.
Pretty good and the service was lovely , although Blue Nile has better food in my opinion.
Stopped by on the way home today, amazing platter for a good price. Really authentic, will be back.
